This company is the market leader in providing innovative and high quality solutions for measuring electrical parameters. Its core products – current and voltage transducers – are used in a broad range of applications in drives & welding, renewable energies & power supplies, traction, high precision, conventional and green cars businesses.

The Position
The National Sales Manager Industry position will have a key role in the market Industry as efficiency of industrial applications is of increasing importance in order to save energy and money. Industrial applications are controlled by power electronics requiring optimal and accurate regulation of electronic parameters such as current, voltage and power. The company uses innovative technologies to ensure the high degree of reliability and safety that their customers require.

Key Duties 仕事内容

In this role, your main responsibility will be to generate new business with the engineering and purchasing departments of industry customers in Japan. Ideal candidates will have a successful track record of building relationships and closing on new business. His/her area of responsibility will cover a broad spectrum including the following key areas:

1. Generate new business opportunities and Sales in Japan
2. Be the key resource for industry Sales and Marketing in Japan
3. Manage and provide strategic guidance to local industry sales
4. Manage the company’s industry distributors
5. Ensure the technical liaison between customers and the team in Japan as well as headquarters in Europe
6. Supervise/Manage projects in the area of industry in Japan
7. Understand customer applications, analyze global needs, and proactively find solutions
8. Propose, compare and find the optimal technical solutions in his/her field of expertise
9. Ensure optimal performance within the quality specifications
10. Carry out trainings in his/her areas of expertise
11. Report regularly to his hierarchy

Performance – The National Sales Manager Industry should be capable of increasing revenues and achieving a sales performance above budgetary projections. He should have a technical understanding as well as be able to develop business proposals and to initiate and successfully conclude complex business transactions.

Customer Focus – The National Sales Manager Industry must imperatively be committed to a strong customer-oriented approach with a good track record in identifying changes in customers’ needs and converting them into profitable business initiatives.

Team leadership – The National Sales Manager Industry will show a willingness to lead from the front, and take risks or initiatives that encourage others to stretch themselves within the corporate framework. The National Sales Manager Industry should be able to show recognition for concrete achievements, support and encouragement in the event of failures or mistakes.

Market Knowledge – The National Sales Manager Industry must understand the interrelationships between the company, suppliers and competitors; and be able to capitalise on this knowledge to seize opportunities which would aggressively extend our market share with new and existing customers. The National Sales Manager Industry must be able to understand the implications of market trends and to draw conclusions for appropriate actions. Ideal Candidates bring along a network of business contacts in the Japanese industry that helps to extend our existing customer base.

Collaboration – The National Sales Manager Industry will be able to build close partnering relationships with customers, suppliers, partners and colleagues across different regions and business segments; and ensure that the mutual interests of all parties are met. The National Sales Manager Industry will show an ability to recognise sources of conflict, such as cultural, functional or geographic issues and act to resolve them.

Language skills – The National Sales Manager Industry speaks and writes fluently in the local language and English. French language skills would be a plus but not required.

Education – The National Sales Manager Industry will have a technical degree preferably with mechanical and/or electronics engineering background and/or a business administration degree with postgraduate technical qualifications, or he will be a qualified industrial engineer with demonstrated technical understanding of the industry.

This position requires solid market and leadership experience in Japan as well as a longer term commitment to the company. He should have approximately 5 – 10 years sales and marketing experience as well as management experience of a sales teams in Japan’s Tier 1 suppliers. The National Sales Manager Industry will report to the local General Manager and with a dotted-line to the Global Sales Manager Industry based in Europe.
